Why professional boiler installation matters
A boiler fitted by a qualified, Gas Safe registered engineer is safer, runs more efficiently, keeps its warranty and costs less to look after. Here is why.
A new boiler is one of the biggest purchases most households make for their home, and how it is fitted matters as much as which model you choose.
It has to be legal and safe
Any work on a gas boiler in the UK must be done by a Gas Safe registered engineer. A proper installation checks gas supply and pressure, flue position and clearances, ventilation and condensate drainage before the boiler is commissioned. Get any of these wrong and the boiler may be unsafe, or simply stop working the first time the weather turns.
Always ask to see the engineer’s Gas Safe ID card. You can check it on the Gas Safe Register website.
It runs as efficiently as it should
Modern condensing boilers are only efficient when they are set up correctly: the right output for the size of your home, the right flow temperature, and controls that let the boiler run gently rather than cycling on and off. An oversized boiler fitted without a heat loss calculation wastes gas every day it runs.
It protects your warranty
Manufacturers only honour long warranties when the boiler is installed and registered correctly and serviced every year. We offer up to 15 years warranty on boilers, and we register them for you.
It costs less to look after
Most early boiler failures come from the system around the boiler rather than the boiler itself. Sludge in old radiators, no magnetic filter, or no inhibitor in the water will clog a new heat exchanger quickly. A professional installation deals with the system as well: a flush where it is needed, a filter, inhibitor, and neat, correctly supported pipework.
Getting a quote
We survey the property, explain your options in plain language (combi, system or regular boiler) and give you a fixed written quote, free and with no obligation. In December 2018 the Sunday Telegraph named us the best value boiler installer in London.
